Honestly seemed like i was bothering her with my order. I sat there waiting, and would have ordered a drink while I wait had she even asked if I needed anything, once. Food is always great. If the owner takes your order you're in for good serv9ce and good food.
They have amazing burgers, and service is always excellent! I love that this Short’s is so close to neighborhoods, making it a perfect go to place for food that is always dependable and enjoyable. The burger selection is the same menu as their downtown Iowa City location and they are made just as well. Servers are also very attentive and seem to enjoy working here too. During the summer months, they have a small outdoor patio seating section to use. I love the environment of this place, and can’t say enough how good it is to have it in the area!
When I lived in IC, shorts east was my go to for food and beer. I moved to Chicago and hadn’t been able to return since Covid. That was until Monday. I was able to go! Big props to the bartender and all the other staff. The food was as excellent as I remember. Can’t wait til I can visit again!
Great place. Greeted quickly, sat as fast. Lots of selections for both burgers & chicken. Good was delicious. Service was great. Definitely going back. Only thing I didn't care for was lighting in back corner both to right of entrance. Dimly lit.
Tried the Baxter burger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time! Perfectly cooked and delicious elements to this burger! Try the garlic aioli with your fries!
Came in with hangry kids, which didn’t phase our server in the least bit, she was still overly courteous and sweet to them. Food was great, my husband had a burger and I had a very tasty taco salad. Then our server even let the kids hang up their colored pictures. We were treated like family and we felt very special. Thank you!! Everyone should stop in here- It’s just a few minutes off the highway if you’re traveling like us, and well worth it! Nice full bar with beers on tap too, I’d like to try next time we don’t have the kids
We have a lot of nice neighborhood locally owned bars and restaurants in Iowa City. Shorts on the east side is among them. The veggie bean burger I had was quite good and the service was fast and friendly.
Service and atmosphere was good. Food was just a little lacking for us. All sandwiches and burgers (with fries) are 15.99 and up at lunchtime.
